My name is Joy Williams and I teach special education classes at JFHS. I am an English 9 inclusion teacher with Mr. Templeton during 2nd and 3rd periods.  I have planning during 5th period.


Supplies: I would like for each of the students in my classes to bring 2 boxes of tissues to keep in the classroom. They should come to class prepared with pencil/pen and notebook paper.  If possible, each student should purchase a flash drive to carry with them in order to save unfinished class assignments.  They could then finish these assignments in their fundamental skills class or at home.



In fundamental skills, my students will be learning study strategies to help them achieve success in their classes. They will also work on organizational strategies, homework assignments and studying for tests/quizzes. Their grade for this class will come from 4 components- filling out their agenda each day, working while in class, completing homework assignments and organization of materials and notebooks. They will have periodic notebook checks.

My fundamental skills students need to review the notes from their core classes each night. Please check their teacher's schoolnotes/webpages for specific details on test/quiz dates and assignment due dates. Please encourage your student to use their agenda to write down specific daily assignments and check their agenda each night to see if their assignments have been completed.  By working together we can ensure your student has a successful year.
